EO

L8EO, or Last 8 Edge Orientation, is an optional substep of L8E. It involves doing an algorithm that flips the eight edges in such a way so that only two colors face up and down. This can help the rest of L8E be faster or jusst easier to handle, but should only be done when it takes little extra time. This page is a list of all the L8EO algorithms. Notes:

  • For clarity, I will organize the cases by which D-layer edges are unoriented, and will note above each cube image which U-layer edges are unoriented.
  • Ignore the color on each of the U/D layer edges that isn't white or yellow.
  • If you cannot find your case, it is likely that you need to do a setup move <D, U> to match with one of the below cases.
  • Many cases can be done from different angles. For example, M' U M can also be done from the back with M U M'.
  • Any (M2) at the end of an algorithm is to preserve center orientation. Depending on how you solve L8E, this may or may not be needed.
